HD Radio App Reviews

Great app, but needs update!

Everything is great with the app! Works, but could use an update with retina graphics and add a toggle to be able to switch the audio between headphones to speaker on device. As the headphones act as an antenna.

I love this app

Doesnt work with my iPhone 4S.

App opens. Only tunes FM stations; but I get no sound through my earphones! Useless!

Good thing there are no ads!

From the apps site: "Q. does the application have ads in it? A. No, the app does not have ads in it. The broadcasters have ads in the streams, but the app does not have additional ads." REALLY!? So broadcasters are now using iAds within apps?? News to me! Other than that and issues connecting the dongle in the correct sequence (plug it in, but only on Tuesday between 2:34 and 2:57 pm, and only if youre facing west, THEN launch the app... It may work, but if not try the sequence on Wednesday, but in reverse order), it works OK if youre within range of strong stations. Better than expected, in fact. Just dont move!

Lame- need external device:not!

Sad. iPhone is totally digital . Scam to get you to but hd hardware.

Great! But...

I absolutely love this app, considering I am a HD radio fan. I get very good reception. But this app, however, has a couple if issues I think should be addressed. 1) Needs better support on startup time. It takes about 30 seconds to a minute for the radio to turn on. 2) it could use additional features like artist experience and other things you would find in a regular HD radio system. 3) Last, but not least, it probably wouldnt kill anyone to probably update many of your logos or other signs and symbols to accommodate those with Hd retina displays.

Pretty Good

When it works it is excellent quality sound. With that said the option to search different HD stations for a single channel seams not to work for me though. Also to bring the tuner up again just tap on the arrows beneath the twitter/Facebook(etc.) icons for any people with trouble.

HD Radio

The application works very well. One complaint is that it uses its own audio jack instead of the iPods sound system. It would be nice to use a Bluetooth speaker system with it. They could have made a plugin antenna for it. Also, you cant charge the iPod with the radio plugged in. They could have put a power connector on the radio for extended play. Other than that, the radio is fairly sensitive and is easy to use.

App and support are junk

Ill be looking out for BottleRocket apps... to avoid them

This works great for me

I use this at Lifetime Fitness to listen to the tv channels displayed in front of the treadmills, stair masters, etc. and it works great. I am surprised by the amount of negative reviews. I have iPhone 5s and also have the app on my iPad 2 for home use and it works great there too, even though the app is not intended for iPad. The app runs through the Gigaware controller from Radio Shack. I dont know whats not to like here.

DRAINS the Battery

The dongle isn’t that strong to pick up HD signals more than a few miles away. Worse yet that the app runs in the background ALL THE TIME. You have to make sure you turn it off - a action quite obsolete for most apps - otherwise it will run your battery down. I use it with an iPod Touch 4th generation and you can actually see the battery range going down from the moment I turn this on. All in all, unless the app gets reworked seriously, it’s not worth the pain. Understandably there is no radio receiver in the Touch, but I can always use the nano which comes with radio receiver. Unfortunately, the dongle by itself will not work with the nano or any other radio app.

Letdown

Well just bought this tuner, was pleased to see the app on the App Store but apparently its not even compatible with ios 8. What a waste of money. Lol

Nice to see that it works again.

This has been updated, and now it works again on my iPad 2. It also works now on my iPhone 5s if I use the Lightning to 30 pin converter. If I want something better, I imagine that I will have to write it myself. Works on iOS 9 and a few thinks in between. It uses the headphone wires as the antenna.
